How do we measure Impact?

We use the Happiness Index developed by WeHappers to quantify the impact of our work. This index provides a comprehensive measure of well-being across various aspects of life, allowing us to assess the transformation in a child's life before and after joining the WemblyMo Foundation.

Happiness Index for a Homeless child in Kampala
Before joining the WemblyMo Foundation, the average homeless children in Kampala face numerous challenges that significantly impact their overall well-being and happiness. These challenges often include:
Lack of stable shelter and exposure to harsh environmental conditions
Limited access to food and clean water
Absence of proper healthcare and education
Heightened risk of exploitation and abuse
Isolation from supportive social structures
It doesn't come as a surprise that their Happiness Index scores very low. See below:
Analysis of Results:
These are shocking numbers. But they represent a reality. Homeless children are basically lacking everything at every level of the pyramid of needs. Hence this disastrous score of 260 HITs
Overall, the Happiness Index score for a homeless child in Kampala reflects the severe challenges they face, highlighting the urgent need for intervention and support.
Happiness Index of the child within our Foundation
WemblyMo Foundation, has created an environment that nurtures every aspect of a child's well-being. their approach includes:
Providing safe and stable housing
Ensuring access to nutritious meals and healthcare
Offering quality education and skill development opportunities
Creating a supportive community and fostering positive relationships
Analysis of Results:
The answers to the Happiness Index questionnaire we got from the children show that the services offered by WMF have a significant impact in all six sections of the Happiness index.
Although the home only provides rudimentary services, it is a safe haven for the children but not only... It also comes along with the Social ecosystem of being part of the 'WMF family', a welcoming and caring social community boosting their 'love and belonging'. So its benefits don't stop at the vital level but cover the entire sprectrum of the pyramid of needs. Living in this caring ecosystem fundamentally transforms their existence. As such it is the biggest contributor to the increase in the Happiness Index: +2,740
The Second biggest contributor is Skills development. By acquiring new skills with the dance activities and through scholarship they gain self-confidence, feel a purpose and discover a new world of possibilities. This contributes to boosting their Development, esteem and Self-Actualization levels. Overall the impact on their Happiness Index is: +560
As for the home, limited budget only allows for providing basic food, and mainly one unique daily meal. Although very basic, access to regular meals and clean water is a another life changer for the children. The positive impact on the Happiness index is: +440
Access to proper and clean clothing, is also a nice boost of comfort and dignity. This has a positive impact of: +150
The Happiness Index score for children within WMF Foundation demonstrates a significant improvement across various life domains, reflecting the positive impact of comprehensive support system WMF provides to the children in their care as depicted in the pie chart below

What does this mean?
The comparison between the two Happiness Index scores reveals the profound positive impact of our work. Children in our care experience a substantial increase in overall happiness and well-being in all aspects.
According to WeHappers independent measurement, this year we are making in average an impact of 3,890 in the Happiness Index for every child in our care.
These results validate the effectiveness of our programs and interventions and encourages us to continue our mission.
